FLAIZ MEMORIAL HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL
 | The Academic Programme:
Flaiz
Memorial Higher Secondary School is a boarding school started in the year 1921 and
runs classes from Kindergarten to Twelfth Standard. The school is affiliated to the
council for the Indian Certificate of Secondary Examinations (ICSE), New Delhi.The
School offers ICSE examination at X th Grade
level and ISC examination at XII th grade
level. The ICSE program has gained international acceptance. |

To
provide efficient academic functioning the school has been divided into Elementary, High
School and Higher Secondary School programs.
The Elementary Division comprises of classes from LKG to V standard and is headed by
Mrs. Sudha Raj C. to Plans are being drawn to introduce Computer Aided teaching f or elementary education. The
faculty of elementary section are being trained to adapt to this contemporary style of
education.

High School comprises of grades from VI to X and the grades XI and XII constitute Higher
Secondary School ,
as of now the High School and the Higher Secondary School are under the supervision of the
Headmaster, Mr. Israel B. The X and XII grade students are required to appear for
a public examination conducted by the ICSE council. Computer education is a compulsory
part of the curriculum for all classes above UKG. English is the medium of
instruction. Other Indian languages like Hind i,Telugu, Oriya, Mizo etc. are also
offered as second language. Computer Science can be chosen in place of second Language for
the XI and XII Grades.

A rigorous academic schedule is organized with regular assignments and an ample mix of
Weekly, Monthly and Quarterly tests and examinations to prepare students for the finals.
 | The daily schedule:
The students rise to the morning bell at 5:30 am.
After the morning devotion, breakfast is served
by 7:00 am.
Morning supervised study hour is between 7:00 and 8:00 am.
The school begins from 8:20 am.
An interval between 10:20 and 10:30 am is followed by classes.
Lunch break is between 12:30 and 1:30 pm.
The school gives over by 3:30 pm and is followed by compulsory supervised work
programme, which includes manual labour.
Playtime extends between 4:30 and 5:30pm.
Supper is served at 6:30 pm.
The evening devotion is followed by supervised study programme from 7:30 to 9:30 pm
from Sunday through Thursday. The school gives over by 2:30 pm on Fridays.
The school operates on a five-day week schedule. |
